Alma Vii 104

About the house

This is a traditional Transylvanian house, built in the 19th century, its name keeping alive the memory of the last owner – Walter Denghel. Located in the village center, directly across from the medieval church, the two bedroom house is a way to experience local life at its best.

The lovely vine-covered courtyard recalls a time long ago, when all villagers made their own homemade wine, to be shared at family meals, town events, and communal gatherings.

The “Walter” guesthouse in Alma Vii

From the front bedroom of the house there’s a wonderful view of the church: especially at night when this medieval bastion – like an engraving from a fairy tale – is illuminated by the fading light, as the sunset drops behind the wooded Carpathians. Or you can sit back on the terrace, relax, and enjoy a cup of coffee, or a cup of tea made from locally-grown herbs and spices.

The host of the guesthouse, Simona Iacob, will pamper you with mouth-watering dishes, following local cooking traditions and using only natural produce.
