Daily life
Stepping into a Transylvanian village is like stepping back in time. Roosters herald the arrival of sunrise. Farmers rise in the semi-darkness to tend to their flocks. The rhythm of the village is set by daily ritual of milking the cattle – watching their lazy stroll through the village and out to pasture, and then, hours later, their return to be milked at dusk.
The main streets are a living, breathing environment – filled with drinking troughs, wells, and antique farming tools. Fruit trees line the pathways, providing shade for geese, ducks, chickens, and turkeys. The streets are never empty, but are thronged with people and with animals, especially during the morning and evening hours.
