Viscri 32 – Tree Room
About the house
The Viscri 32 – Tree Room
Right at the heart of the village, Viscri 32 used to belong to Johann Dootz and it’s a four window saxon house rebuilt in 1912 on a foundation from 1700. It has been carefully restored by local craftsmen using traditional techniques and materials. Johann’s Room preserves the original beams of the house, with carved and painted signatures, and is furnished with old painted furniture and a few modern pieces, for extra comfort. Breakfast is included in the price.
The property also features a cottage restaurant build inside the barn with 60 seats and a lovely terrace in the orchard behind. The guests are more than welcome to taste the local Saxon, Romanian and Hungarian dishes and deserts, great espresso coffee and a fine selection of Romanian wines and craft beers.
Breakfast served here is included in the accommodation price and is based on farm to table ingredients.
The guesthouse is owned by a young couple who recently moved to Viscri from Bucharest. They can give you tips on mixing a modern lifestyle with countryside life and they will tell you about everything there is to do in Viscri: the must-see spots like the 12th century fortified church, the village craftsmen, the horse riding tours, truffle hunts, bird watching, bike trails or Imola’s village art gallery.
