About the house
Your days here will be quiet and relaxed. This house is a typical Transylvanian house restaured by local people with authentic techniques and the same materials used here by centuries now; it is decorated with traditional objects, most of which were used many years by people in the village.
Local, authentic experience you can book while staying here: observe the unspoiled nature surrounding Viscri during a short 2 hour horseback tour with lipizzan horses or take an entire day of and visit another traditional Saxon village nearby, lunch included. The guesthouse 14A in Viscri
This house is a traditional Saxon house recently restored with local materials and techniques in order to preserve its authenticity. It is located right in the center of the village, on the main street. This is a suitable house for a couple that appreciates authenticity.
If you book this house, you will have the entire house with one bedroom and own bathroom to yourself. While staying here, you will only pay per person for the number of people in your group.
During chilly seasons, cheerful terracota fire sounds will invite you to rest. You will find the place warm, but you will have to continue feeding the fire and start it again in the morning if you feel it is necessary.

Who we are & what we believe in
This is a guest house owned and managed by the Mihai Eminescu Trust (MET). The MET is a non-profit organization that has 20 years of experience in heritage conservation and the regeneration of villages in Transylvania and Maramureș.
Experience Transylvania is the Foundation’s initiative for the development of cultural tourism and it consists of a network of over 20 traditional guesthouses scattered around beautiful villages such as: Mălâncrav, Florești, Richiș, Biertan, Alma Vii, Viscri, Criț or Breb.
We are here to support the local economy by involving villagers in the restoration and management of the houses and thus showing that, if well preserved, heritage can become a source of growth for the community. Our goal is to empower people and to assist them in creating a sustainable and healthy future, while preserving their cultural heritage and an authentic way of life.
While enjoying delightful local dishes and the peaceful village life, guests staying in our houses unknowingly support our work and are part of this success story. Thank you.
