About the house
Your days here will be quiet and relaxed. This house is a typical Transylvanian house restaured by local people with authentic techniques and the same materials used here by centuries now; it is decorated with traditional objects, most of which were used many years by people in the village. If you have children, it is going to be hard to get them to step down from the Saxon bed with a drawer, which is going to become their best local toy.
Local, authentic experience you can book while staying here: observe the unspoiled nature surrounding Viscri during a short 2 hour horseback tour with lipizzan horses or take an entire day of and visit another traditional Saxon village nearby, lunch included. The guesthouse 161A in Viscri
This house is located right in the center of the village, on the main street. Living here will secure you front seats for observing the traditional everyday lifestyle of Viscri. All you have to do is exit your yard and spend some time outside, in front of the house.
If you reserve this apartment, you will have the 2 rooms and a separate entrance to yourself, and a shared yard. If you rent it together with 161B, the result will be a suitable house for a large family or a medium sized group of friends.
This apartment does not have a kitchen, so we recommend you one of the restaurants in Viscri. If you fancy a home cooked meal, please let us know with one day in advance and we will try to arrange it. Details in the check-in instructions.
You will only pay per person for the number of people in your group. You will share the yard.

House facilities: 1 room with a double bed and a Saxon bed with a drawer (2 single beds on top of each other, perfect for kids) and another room with 2 single beds (one of Saxon type), which share one bathroom, terrace, parking space, shared yard.

Who we are & what we believe in
This is a guest house owned and managed by the Mihai Eminescu Trust (MET). The MET is a non-profit organization that has 20 years of experience in heritage conservation and the regeneration of villages in Transylvania and Maramureș.
Experience Transylvania is the Foundation’s initiative for the development of cultural tourism and it consists of a network of over 20 traditional guesthouses scattered around beautiful villages such as: Mălâncrav, Florești, Richiș, Biertan, Alma Vii, Viscri, Criț.
We are here to support the local economy by involving villagers in the restoration and management of the houses and thus showing that, if well preserved, heritage can become a source of growth for the community. Our goal is to empower people and to assist them in creating a sustainable and healthy future, while preserving their cultural heritage and an authentic way of life.
